Meysey Hampton Church of England Primary School values the contribution that every child can make and is supported by the Local Authority to ensure that all pupils, mindful of their specific needs, make the best possible progress. We believe that all pupils have the right to a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum.  All pupils with SEND are taught with their peers in mainstream classes by the class teacher, and study the curriculum appropriate for their needs.

The school’s SENDCo. is Miss Jo Burden. Please contact Miss Burden regarding any SEND matter by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

SEND Governor: Mrs Hilary Tatlow

What is SEND?

Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) can affect a child or young person’s ability to learn. They can affect their:

  • behaviour or ability to socialise, for example they struggle to make friends
  • reading and writing, for example because they have dyslexia
  • ability to understand things
  • concentration levels, for example because they have ADHD
  • physical ability

Who to talk to

If you think your child may have special educational needs, please contact the SEND co-ordinator, or ‘SENDCO’.  Your local Information, Advice and Support (IAS) Service can give you advice about SEND too.
