Our School Ethos

Recognising its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the church.

Meysey Hampton Church of England Primary School seeks to serve its community by providing excellent and creative education in a Christian setting.

Believing that all people are created and loved by God, Meysey Hampton Church of England School has a real and deep concern for each individual, rooted in an ethos which welcomes and affirms. All are to feel valued and each pupil is to have the very best chance of personal and educational development.

Our School Values

Our school is rooted in Christian values and these permeate all that we do.

As a church school we believe that our role is to educate the whole child and that the spiritual growth of our children is as important as their academic achievement.  Our Christian values underpin our curriculum and we embrace spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. Please see our Statement of Christian Values.

The principles that reflect our school's commitment to developing all aspects of our pupils' lives are:

  • The knowledge that life is a gift (kindness and respect)
  • The willingness to put yourself in someone else's shoes (love and compassion)
  • The joy of a fresh start (forgiveness)
  • Good companionship and a sense of community (friendship)
  • The knowledge that we all need each other to make the school a happy place (teamwork and happiness)

Our values are reinforced and celebrated in our worship assemblies when we share good news and recognise those who demonstrate the values, however quietly and unassumingly.
